The 'what ifs'

The first step that we’ve all heard a million times, but seem to forget it too easily is realizing you can’t change the past. What happened happened, and that is it. But that’s the problem; the situation had a big impact on us, so we get incredibly wrapped up in it, forgetting that our present day life is still currently happening.
As humans, we are all capable of distinguishing the past from the present, but our never-ending desire to find the answers takes over our minds. But here’s the thing, there are no answers to your “what if?” questions. You may think there was only one other option, which makes you believe there is an answer to your “what if?” question, but it’s not really about actual choices, its about you questioning what that other decision would have led you to do different in your life, and those possibilities are absolutely endless.
However, realizing that there are endless possibilities doesn’t really make you feel better, and not having a specific answer leaves you unsettled. This is because you are regretting something; you feel bad knowing that you could’ve done something different, which could’ve led to a different outcome. Feeling regret is so powerful, and I’m sure we can all admit to a time that it has led us to do something that is out of character. The important thing is to come to terms with it. Dwelling on the past won’t make you regret it any less; it will only continue to allow the situation to be an issue and reoccurring theme in your everyday life.
As harsh as this sounds, move on. Accept that you cannot change the past and that all you can do from here is make the best of it. Turn those feelings of regret into your motivation to make a different decision next time. Something I learned at a young age is that if you live in the past, you will miss the present. Decide not to let the situation from the past define your present, and future; you are more in control of that then you think.
Avoid torturing yourself with the “what if?” alternative reality. In the end of the day, you don’t know and won’t ever know, what could’vehappened. It does nothing except make you upset, and you are only wasting your time and energy. Trust that each situation is part of the path that is making you stronger, teaching you lessons, and getting you one step closer to becoming the person you will be. Focus your energy on the here and now because that is what you have the ability to change. If you don’t allow yourself to live in the present, one day you’ll look back feeling like you missed out, and you’ll be asking yourself, “what if I would’ve left the past in the past?” TC Mark

Unjustified but still right?

Feel like sometimes people are not able to show the world the best side of them due to obligations which are used to justify our status in this world.

There are some many things that makes us so special and so different in numerous ways.
We may all go through the same thing- the same routine of life such as going school, work or even on a holiday- but we all see things so differently that makes our encounter and experience a unique one.
Just like a person who is next to you now. Be it the stranger sitting next to you in the bus or your closes friend, our thoughts are parallel superficially because of how our society instills certain impelling constrain on us but, the soul beneath this body of ours has a voice of its own that is unable to be heard by the world yet and we all should find a way to deliver this with our own ablity.

We always say that we dislike our education system because it leaves those behind if you cant catch up. Honestly, i don't dislike the system because it got us to where we are today but i resent the fact that it makes those who could not catch up feel useless, dump or voiceless when there are so much in them. Feel like those who had the toughest times are those who are actually the strongest because they have been throw into situations that require no choice but yet still survived. Then again some may survive but not want to continue fighting so how are they the strongest? Sometimes i really question my thoughts cause its always so confusing and with no doubt, i am a confused kid but one things for sure is that i think everybody deserves to be happy and only they themselves can choose to make themselves happy.

On the side note, i feel really glad to have made it through another busy week. Thank god for the people around me that always help me pull through the day :)

MI run 2014 -28/3  A ridiculously hot day but nevertheless, a fun one.

Decide that i should blog more consistently now and really need to stop procrstinating
Realization that everybody is trying so hard to find themselves when in actual fact we don't really have to. The term 'find ourselves' seem so vague and obscure since we all actually know what we want which is to be happy and do things that makes us happy.
Think I'm just going to live in my own happy bubble which consist of my family and close friends.
(note to self, need to create more distance with people since i'm not good at looking out for myself)
Now is a point in my life where i feel distracted by so many things going on with the people around me and i cant help but also start to carry their weight of their troubles.
have to consistently remind myself that i cannot keep worrying about others.

In other news, the march hols has been pretty decent. Spent time with the people i cared about and relaxed.

School starts tomorrow and i cant help but feel a sense of reluctance.
Thinking about going to europe with my friends at the end of the year shall be the motivation.
Need to start fighting the negativity and pushing myself.
new term, new you.

cant wait to go back to my happy place -anywhere with snow, real snow

Individualism?

As much as people say that we are all different and special in our own ways, the validity of that statement has been undeniably true but, is being an individual always good? After all isn't unity and conformity inevitably happening/needed in our society?
In so many ways we are all the same
In terms of how we all strive for perfection/success
So, only perfectionist strives for success/perfection?
 Don't we all do that?
Those who want to be in relationships are deem as being desperate but if you look at it, they're just normal people who craves/desire for affection and emotional attachment.
Is that wrong? Is wanting to be loved by someone wrong?
Had the sudden realization that we are all the same
and that we all desire the same things in different extents/degree of it
and that can only be determined by us which therefore makes us different.
Ironic how we're all different yet the same as well.

Genting w the best.

Last week, i went to Genting with jer, her mom and her uncle for just a short getaway trip! This is our second time to Genting together and I'm really glad that we went together because as what they say, you will get to know the person better just by traveling with them. Well, i got to know jer and her family better, had really good food at the buffet, met jay at the theme park and did some shopping!

Side note, I feel like many people just slip in and out of our lives so very easily and this is actually pretty tragic yet amazing because for some people who once 'loved' a person regardless of whether it is a friendship or relationship with their partner or family can be lost so easily, becoming almost strangers when they see each other after a bad ending. Isn't it ironic when a person who meant the world to you at one point of your life become nothing/irrelevant/ just a memory.

Okay back to the Genting trip

//This was us for the past few days before the trip. ^^

Update. Whoop whoop!

Oh man all that i have just typed had just been deleted. Attempt to blog round 2.

I have been neglecting this space for so long and all i can say is that life has been pretty great (but not so great 5 secs ago when my long post just got deleted) hahaha. Other than that, i have been pretty busy with school and there have been a lot of things going on for the past few months. This month, May has exceptionally been hectic with so many people's birthday parties, al's, wee wee and wen's 21st bday, USS with the juice kiddos, Othello, sleepovers at sammy's and shera's place and so many moreee.

Its so scary how time flies so quickly and now its already halfway through the year. Today, i was talking to the taxi uncle who picked me up from holland village's daily scoop. Somehow, i love talking to taxi uncles because they are usually of quite an old age and they always tell me about their lives; their family, their past, their mood and it always makes me feel that the money that i pay for the cab is so much more worth it. (in-cab counseling session) hahaha. So, he told me that he is 56, retired, had 3 As for his A levels and has a daughter of age 25 who is currently working at St Regis hotel at the front desk. He said that she doesn't like the job because it can be really tiring to work through the night shift but he forced her to work there for at least two years. Also, he told me that he got married at the age of 24 and that it was cheap at his time to have a wedding (he only spent 5k in total). I asked him where he met his wife because i always find it very amazing how people find each other. He said that she was his friend's sister and he 'borrowed' her for the commissioner ball after army because he didn't have a girlfriend and now, he has spent his whole life with her from then. Its truly amazing how people just 'accidentally' fall in love. :') After that, i asked him if he felt that life was passing so quickly because he told me about himself when he was at his peak-- accomplishments of his job that he used to work at. He said 'nope, i'm happy with my life and i enjoyed every bit of it. It was a fulfilling journey.' I hope that when i am at his age, i would also be able to say that. Upon reaching my destination, he wished me the best in life and i thanked him.

For the past few days, i have been thinking about it and I'm just really fortunate to have such great people around me. My friends always ask me why am i always so happy and that is because i truly do feel that way. How could i not be when i have such great people around me looking out for me and caring for me? And i guess when people say that 'the key to happiness is to let things go' in a sense, i agree with that because there is not much of a point to keep remembering something bad right? Only if you choose to focus on the people who can make you happy then, you'll feel happy too.
